The leadership group wanted to focus on youth and creating memories like they had as children growing up in Plainville. A visit with Santa, hayrack or carriage rides, melodramas, and a soup supper were just a few of the ideas.
In 2009, Home for the Holidays on Saturday, December 12 carries on that tradition. Here is a schedule of activities:
- 11:30 a.m. - Free hot dog feed at the VFW
- 11:00 a.m. - 3 p.m. - Sugar cookie decorating at the library
- 12:30 p.m. - Cardinal Classic drill team performs at the Township Hall
- 1:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. - Sunflower Clydesdale rides in downtown
- 1:30 p.m. - Hi-Plains Players perform at Township Hall
- 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. - Ornament decorating at VFW
- 2:15 p.m. - Magic Show at VFW
- 3:00 p.m. - Golf ball drop benefit at old lumber yard
